I searched everywhere for egress windows that were both up-down single-hung and fully openable for emergency egress—and these were the only ones I could find. I needed something that allowed me to install a window A/C unit during the summer and still met code for basement bedrooms. These checked every box. The quality is excellent. I installed two of them about four years ago, and they’ve held up beautifully—no issues with operation, insulation, or hardware. The sliding mechanism is still smooth, and they look great. I'm actually about to order two more for another project. If you're looking for a rare combination of functionality and code compliance, especially if A/C compatibility matters to you, these are 100% worth it.
