REDI-EXIT® Compact Series Single Hung In-swing Egress Windows are designed to meet the IRC Code requirement of 5.7 square feet of clear area and the 20” minimum width & 24” minimum height.

These vinyl double pane Compact Series Single Hung In-swing Egress Windows are typically used in rooms when space to install an egress window is limited.

These Compact Series Single Hung In-swing Egress windows are great for replacement or new construction.

These windows are shipped with a screen for the lower sash.

Compact Series Egress Windows are designed to work with all of REDDCO’S Egress Wells.

Custom sized sliding egress windows can be special ordered in ¼” increments to fit any size requirements.

These dual function vinyl windows operate in two ways; 1) as a normal single hung window, with the lower sash opening for ventilation; 2) in the event of an emergency, a latch in the corner of the window is opened and the top and bottom sashes hinge into the room like a door for easy escape.

REDI-EXIT® Compact Series Single Hung In-swing Egress Windows are available in four stock sizes; 28” wide x 46” high x 3 ¼ jam depth; 31” wide x 41” high x 3 ¼” jam depth; 35 1/2 wide x 36” high x 3 ¼” jam depth; and 35 ½” wide x 53 ½” high x 3 ¼” jam depth, in both right hinged and left hinged configurations.

The 28” wide x 46” high x 3 ¼ jam depth; 31” wide x 41” high x 3 ¼” jam depth Compact Egress Windows are also stocked in Low-e Glass and Argon Gas Filled configurations.

REDDCO’S egress windows are built with special egress style hinges, that hinge the window open at the inside edge of the window frame.

REDI-EXIT® Compact Series Single Hung In-swing Egress Windows can be made in custom sizes with the following options: Tempered Glass, Argon Gas Filled, Low-e Glass, Nailing Fins, Obscure Glass, Grids between the glass (Muntins).

An optional Stainless Steel Security Screen and Glass Transom are available for these Egress Windows.

Subtract 7 ½” from the width and 5” from the height to determine the net clear area of these Egress Windows.

Overview

This Installation Guideline is intended to give the installer a general overview on how to correctly install a Basement Egress Window, a Basement Egress Window Well and Window Well Cover. This Installation Guideline is not intended to replace the Manufacturer's Installation Instructions, but to supplement and expand on them. An Installer must follow the Manufacturer's Installation Instructions when ever they vary from these Guidelines to keep the Manufacturers Warranty Enforce.

Note:

  1. It is the responsibility of the owner, architect, contractor and or builder to select products that comply with applicable, state and local building codes that is appropriate for the application and use. A building permit may be needed.
  2. REDDCO Inc is not responsible for claims resulting from the failure of the contractor or homeowner to properly install or maintain the Egress Window, Window Well, and Cover.
  3. Call your local diggers hotline before beginning excavation to avoid accidental contact with underground utility lines
  4. Gutters, Down Spouts, Faucets on exterior walls, Sprinkler Heads and Sump Pump Outlets must be at least 6 to 10 feet away from the window well. All water must be directed away from the well to assure proper drainage.
  5. Grading around the house must be sloped away from the Window Well at a slope of 1"per foot for proper drainage.
